Busy, Busy, Busy!

The big excitement last week was field day.  We were fortunate to have super sunny (albeit extremely hot) weather for both fourth grade and first grade field days.  I volunteered both days and had so much fun watching all of the events.  The PE coaches do such a wonderful job creating relays and obstacle courses.  The kids look forward to this all year and this year definitely didn’t disappoint.  Emery’s class was the big winner for fourth grade!  IMG_7950IMG_7962IMG_7964IMG_8045My front porch pots were fluffed last week and I’m smitten with the pink and green color combo.IMG_8023IMG_8022Speaking of plants, my little kitchen window plants make me so happy.IMG_7986Our dear friends from Cincinnati stopped by for a night on their way to the beach over the weekend.  They stay with us every year and it’s always a fun visit.  They have a little two year old girl who is too cute for words.  This is the first year Evelyn’s personality has been on full display and she was simply adorable.  Emery was in heaven.  The adults had a delicious dinner out downtown Friday night, but I didn’t take a picture.  We ate at Jianna and then grabbed dessert at Spill the Beans and wandered around Falls Park enjoying the gorgeous weather.  IMG_8014IMG_8013IMG_8015Emery insisted that Evie sleep with her.  So sweet.

In between lots of pool time, Bodie played his final flag football game of the season.  He learned a lot and had loads of fun.  The coaches were fabulous.  I can’t say enough good things about i9 sports.  This was our second season with them (Bodie played basketball last winter) and both experiences were top notch.  IMG_8018One of hubby’s buddies stopped by last night in his old Jeep and I couldn’t resist taking it for a spin.  I would love an old beach cruiser Jeep (or Bronco) for summer.  A girl can dream, right?IMG_8038IMG_8044
