True crime memoirs are my jam. My dad gifted my What Ever Happened to Eddy Crane by Kate Crane (the man’s daughter!) for my birthday. I deviated from my summer reading list to devour this work. Wow. I definitely didn’t expect some of the elements of this case. I’m forever thankful I had a tame childhood, because the effects of Eddy Crane’s murder are all encompassing for his wife and daughters.

Without giving anything away, I must admit that I wish the ending were different. That being said, I loved this book and believe Kate Crane is a phenomenal writer. I’d read another investigative work by her in a heartbeat. You can purchase here: https://amzn.to/4g5bC0D.
Of course you can also go to your local small business book store! I’ve shared my love for Fox Tale Book Shoppe before, but it’s worth mentioning again. This precious store is located in downtown Woodstock, GA. It’s walking distance from my parents’ house. The owner and staff are wonderful. This is where my dad buys all of his books now. I had the privilege of purchasing a copy of The Correspondent by Virginia Evans in a similar shop in Grand Haven, MI, last week. Not only is The Bookman a charming small business with knowledgeable employees, it’s also the home to a rescue cat. Truly my dream is to own a bookstore with a kitty. Here she is:
