Book Club: Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

My fellow Book B*tch, Keri, chose Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin for our September selection. There’s a lot I love about my book club, namely the women in it, but being introduced to books that I would likely never read on my own is the best part. This is one of those books.

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

Here’s the description from Amazon:

From the best-selling author of The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry: On a bitter-cold day, in the December of his junior year at Harvard, Sam Masur exits a subway car and sees, amid the hordes of people waiting on the platform, Sadie Green. He calls her name. For a moment, she pretends she hasn’t heard him, but then, she turns, and a game begins: a legendary collaboration that will launch them to stardom.

These friends, intimates since childhood, borrow money, beg favors, and, before even graduating college, they have created their first blockbuster, Ichigo. Overnight, the world is theirs. Not even twenty-five years old, Sam and Sadie are brilliant, successful, and rich, but these qualities won’t protect them from their own creative ambitions or the betrayals of their hearts.

Spanning thirty years, from Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Venice Beach, California, and lands in between and far beyond, Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow examines the multifarious nature of identity, disability, failure, the redemptive possibilities in play, and above all, our need to connect: to be loved and to love.

I’ll be totally honest: I was nervous about this book. I know next to nothing about gaming and was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get into the story. Trust me, this is not the case. You will love the characters and their journey together. If you don’t want to take my word, look at the reviews! Linked here: https://amzn.to/3Q3uf9s

My B*tches always create a menu that ties in with the book and Keri did an outstanding job curating a Korean feast for us. I don’t remember the names of half of this stuff, but it was all wonderfully spicy and flavorful.

Korean Delicacies

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is a fabulous departure from my usual domestic thriller genre. I highly encourage you to read it with your book club. Or on your own. Just read it! It’s one of my favorite reads of the year.

TGIF! I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
