My favorite night of each month is always the night my book club meets. These ladies are so much fun and keep me sane. My girl, Kimberley, was in charge of July’s Book B*tches meeting and she really raised the bar. She chose Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell for us to read and planned a stand up paddle boarding excursion for our discussion, complete with boxed dinners and wine!
I can’t recommend this book enough. I loved it and am still thinking about the story, weeks after I finished it.
A MASSIVE storm rolled through the area just before we headed to Upstate Paddleboard for our adventure, but the weather could not have been more glorious after the storm. We enjoyed comfortable temperatures and calm water for our sunset paddle.
We paddled for about half an hour and then all tied up together to eat, drink and discuss our book. Then, we paddled a bit further into Saluda Lake before turning around and heading back to our launch spot. If you’re local to the Greenville area, you must do this! Each Wednesday evening Upstate Paddleboard offers sunset paddles. You can bring your own board or rent from them. The cost to rent is $26.50 and the cost to bring your own is just a $7 launch fee. Besides the Wednesday sunset paddle, you can make arrangements to rent SUPs most of the time during the summer. Their web site is www.upstatepaddleboard.com.

I’m slowly assimilating to life after vacation. I’ll have a major Travel Tuesday for you next week.
