I can hardly believe my baby Peach turned nine last week.  His actual birthday was President’s Day (2/15), so we spent the entire long weekend celebrating our boy.  First on the agenda:  a Ninja Warrior party at Motive School of Movement.  Bodie takes weekly trampoline and parkour classes at this facility and we love it.  Their party room is perfect for Bodie and his buddies.  He requested a football cookie cake and Notre Dame cookies.  My pleasure.

Our next adventure consisted of a day of skiing at Cataloochee with our favorite ski partners.  The weather was less than ideal with slushy snow, fog and mud for days.  But it was one of the most fun days we’ve ever had on the slopes. Cataloochee is such an easy trip for us Greenville folks, but make sure you purchase lift tickets ahead of time and bring equipment with you.  We’re lucky in that we have all of our own gear.  If you do not, I suggest renting in your hometown and bringing with you so that you’re guaranteed skis and boots.  Buying a lift ticket and driving up the mountain only to be told that they’re out of gear would be extremely disappointing.

Bodie woke up Monday morning, his actual birthday, to delicious homemade cinnamon rolls from our neighbor.  Bodie enjoyed his breakfast while opening his much anticipated gift:  an air soft gun.  Honestly, I’m nervous about this gun, but he understands the strict guidelines we’ve put in place and MUST wear all of the protective gear I bought him.

We ended the busy weekend with a trip to Spare Time for bowling.  Given the yucky weather, Spare Time was packed.  I’m thankful I booked our lane and food ahead of time.  I enjoyed a cold beer or two while these wild things bowled two games.  Emery had been surrounded by boys all weekend and invited her bestie to join us for bowling.

Needless to say, I was exhausted after the weekend!  Thank goodness birthdays only come around once a year.
