We’ve been back in school for a few days now and I’m loving the routine. Our schedules are a bit more chaotic this year since Emery is in a new school, which means two morning drop offs and an afternoon mad dash to pick Emery up before Bodie’s bus delivers him to our driveway, but I’ve got wonderful friends who can pitch in should something unexpected pop up. So far we’re making it work. Bodie spent the last day of summer playing with his neighborhood buds in the rain. It was the perfect way to close out summer.Emery has a locker at her new school and I don’t think I can emphasize enough how excited she is about it. She spent all summer shopping for her locker and couldn’t wait to decorate it on the first day of school. She did a great job. I just hope she keeps it tidy.
Check out that wallpaper and chandelier! And she wears a uniform this year. Praise Jesus. It’s been a godsend.
Bodie is back in familiar hallways with familiar faces and seems to like second grade. I’ve heard wonderful things about his teacher. I love that he chose to wear his Braves jersey for the first day of school. I also love that he let Ben and me walk him into his classroom and snap pictures. I can’t imagine this will continue to be the case as he gets older.
Gipper is bored out of his gourd with the kids being gone all day, so he’s taken to harassing Hunter the cat. Hunter does not appreciate the big, crazy, velvet moose disturbing his afternoon slumber.
I saw this quote on Instagram the other day and, boy, did it resonate with me. I am busting my hump trying to grow my business and get my site up and running and I can’t help but feel that I should be farther along than I am. This was such a wonderful reminder to appreciate just how far I’ve actually come and that excellence doesn’t happen immediately. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. With that said, I hope and pray I’m posting exciting news in the near future!
xoxo,
Ashley
