Casey and I have been hosting this cookie swap for so long that I’ve lost count. 10th? Covid caused us to cancel one year. Other than that, we never miss. It’s always a delightful afternoon with friends, wine and sweets. It’s the easiest party to host, too, because the guests do most of the leg work. Casey and I prepared several charcuterie boards and a few batches of phyllo cups with Publix’s Savory Tarragon chicken salad and that’s it. All of the cookies are set out on the kitchen and dining room tables and people take several of each before they leave. It’s a good idea to have extra tins or Tupperware containers on hand. We open several bottles of wine and are able to relax and enjoy the party with our guests. Easy as pie.
Casey and I alternate hosting and this year was her turn. Her house is always gorgeous, but this new Ruggable runner took the festive feels to the next level.

I always make buckeyes. It’s my signature dessert. They freeze well, so I made them several weeks earlier when I had time and popped them in the freezer. I brought them out to thaw the morning of the party. For the recipe, click here: https://emerybodie.com/weekend-baking-buckeyes/

The weather the day of the party was gross: chilly and pouring rain. But inside was warm and cheery. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Party Time

I encourage all of you to host a cookie swap. It’s truly my favorite holiday event.
In addition to the cookie swap, I had my Book B*tches Christmas party this week. One of our B*tches moved recently and hosted in her beautiful new home. We spent the bulk of the evening in her closet! It’s that incredible.

Host a cookie swap with your best friend and create a book club with your tribe. Those are my keys to happiness. I truly love these women with all of my heart. We’re always there for each other.
I attended a party at a neighbor’s house last week and did not take a single picture, but one of my friend’s did. We laughed because the ladies got FANCY and the fellas were all dressed for a round of golf. I guess they don’t get as excited for festive outfits as we do. My dress is from Show Me Your Mumu. I was warm and comfortable, which is rarely the case when dressed to the nines.
Festive Ladies

We’ve still got a few parties to go and I love it! That being said, I think we need to throw more parites in January and February to spread things out a bit. Happy holidays!
