Happy Monday! I can already tell this week is going to run more smoothly than last. We all went to bed at a reasonable time last night after a day spent mixing fun with productivity. Sunday scaries are real for me, but as long as I keep busy and cross everything off my list (Enneagram 3), I am happy. I started the day with coffee in bed while I read my new book, which was glorious. When I finally made myself get out of the bed, I started laundry and cleaned my makeup brushes. This was long overdue. I don’t know why I wait so long. This magic brush cleaner makes the process super easy and my brushes are dry within minutes.

I was on a cleaning kick, so then I tossed my wedding rings and earrings into my ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. I’ve had this for ages, but it still works like a charm. Next on my to-do list: meal planning and carpooling. Each Sunday I plan our meals for the week and also figure out carpools with friends for the two different school drop offs and pickups.

While I was at Publix, Ben and the kids were at Ace Hardware purchasing my late birthday gift: a new gas grill! Backstory: we had a Weber gas grill for sixteen years that we loved. It still worked great, but when Ben bought his Reqteq smoker several months ago, he gave the grill to one of his employees. We thought we could get by with just the smoker. While you technically can grill on a smoker, it’s just not the same. I missed how my burgers, pork tenderloin and grilled chicken used to taste. I did some research and landed on a Weber Genesis in blue. The sear feature is amazing.

Pro tip: Mix a packet of Ranch seasoning and one egg into your hamburger meat. Make a little divot on top of each patty (like a thumbprint cookie) before tossing on the grill.
In between the groceries and grilling was lots of kid Ubering and getting clean sheets on the beds. Nothing is better than clean sheets. I couldn’t wait to crawl into bed with my new book at the end of the day. Gipper took a mid day nap on the couch.
