I’m baaaaaaack! Kind of a short post today (am I seriously losing steam after one day????) because I didn’t get a chance to photograph all of the items I wanted to share with you. We had tutoring, piano and baseball all this afternoon/evening and by the time the kids and I got home and settled, the sun was setting. Oops. Baseball was insanely hot. The thermometer in my car registered 94 degrees when we got to the field. Granted, my car is black and we were parked on a blacktop, so I know that’s a few degrees hotter than it actually was, but still……that’s ridiculous for September 28th, even by South Carolina standards. We are supposed to do a family photo shoot (first time ever!) this weekend and I’m praying we get a taste of fall so we’re not melting in our new winter ensembles.
So, although I monogrammed several items these past few days, I’ve only got two to showcase at this moment. I’ll be back with more tomorrow that will be perfect for kicking off the weekend. Hint: they’re all about girly birthday parties.
First up is a Headsweats visor for a friend on my tennis team. These visors are super comfortable and stay in place perfectly regardless of how sweaty you get while wearing it. Perfect for tennis, golf, running, etc. Our pro shop recently got this neon pink version and it’s really pretty. My girl, JAG, selected a fun aqua thread to complement the pink and I love the finished product. Gray, white or black would also work well.
The next item on the agenda is, without a doubt, the most exciting request I’ve ever received. Hands down. Does anyone recognize those initials? Keep reading…..
This Yeti is on its way to none other than Kristen Bell. Kristen Anne Bell. To say I’m starstruck would be an understatement. She’s one of my favorite actresses and seems like such a kind person. I’m sure you’re wondering how this came to be……
Back in July a friend asked if I could get some summery Yetis and monogram them with Lilly Pulitzer inspired vinyl for her to give as gifts to a group of her college girlfriends. These lovely ladies attended The College of Charleston, where keeping your beverage chilled is a top priority. Side note: I graduated from the University of Notre Dame, so chilling a drink was never really an issue–all you had to do was step outside for a minute. But I digress. I ended up using several different Lilly prints, all on these aqua Ramblers. Fast forward several months. One of the lucky Yeti recipients brought her cup to work (she’s in the film industry) and received numerous compliments from the lead actress, KRISTEN BELL. Kristen said she would like one, so my friend’s friend reached out and the next thing I know I’m cutting the letters KBA on my Cameo. Pinch me. I chose “jellies be jammin” for Kristen. It’s such a timeless Lilly print. The film Kristen is currently working on is called “Like Father” and Kelsey Grammer is also in it. “Frasier” is, in my opinion, the most clever sitcom ever created. I’m hoping Mr. Grammer decides he needs a monogrammed Yeti as well. Perhaps he and Niles can sip sherry from Coltsters embellished with an EmeryBodie decal. Hey, a girl can dream!
That’s all folks! I’ve got an early tennis match tomorrow morning. Wish me luck! I started playing just over a year ago and fell into the best group of girls one could ever wish to have as teammates.
This is the breakfast platter I worked on tirelessly tonight to contribute to our food table. I hope our opponents appreciate all the blood, sweat and tears that went into opening all those boxes of granola bars.
At least they’re on a festive tennis platter.
