I thought I’d share my 2026 goals on here so that I’m forced to do them. Nothing too lofty, but each year I list a few things I’d like to accomplish during the next 365 days. I typically write them in my planner, but one year I taped my list to the fridge and I ended up achieving every last one. Do with that what you will, but I think visibility is key. I plan to do that again this year.

I always have a house project goal. No surprise, this is the year of the hot tub. I’ve wanted one for years and I’m finally pulling the trigger. I discussed design possibilities with the kids and we decided on a simple square design with room for eight. The first rendering landed in my inbox this week and I can’t wait to get started.

Travel is also a permanent goal. This year I’d like to cross another Caribbean destination off the kids’ list and add a new ski resort to their resume. For our tropical spot, I’d love to share Grand Cayman with Emery and Bodie. Ben and I have been several times and we love it. I also celebrated my 40th with my twin sister scuba diving in Grand Cayman. It’s gorgeous and safe and the people are lovely. What’s not to like? For skiing, I think Big Sky and Jackson Hole would suit us just fine. I have only been to Jackson Hole during the summer. I’m sure winter is even better. As for Big Sky, I’ve only skied it once (about twenty years ago) and I want to go back with my kids in tow.

I’ll end with something far less exciting than a hot tub and travel: eye doctor. Yup. At the age of 46, I think it’s high time I schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist for an eye well check and most likely a prescription for glasses. I broke down and bought some readers on Amazon last year, which work well for. However, lately my vision while driving isn’t what it used to be. Then again, what is? I’ve never seen an ophthalmologist in my life and that needs to change. If any of my local friends have an eye doc you love, please send me a message.

And that’s all, folks! Three tasks: home, travel and health. The trick is to set manageable goals. Feeling overwhelmed is a sure fire way to fall short.

I hope your 2026 is off to a fabulous start!
