10th Annual Cookie Swap

This past weekend my dear friend, Casey, cohosted our tenth annual holiday cookie swap with me. Once again, I did a horrible job taking pictures because I was having too much fun chatting, sipping and snacking to even look at my phone. That’s always a sign of a good time, but I regret not taking pictures. Thankfully, a few friends shared photos with me. Casey and I were honored to have our long lost bestie, Meg, come up from Atlanta for the party. We miss her so much! Move back, Meg, okay?

Casey and I trade hosting duties every year and this year the cookie swap was at my house. The format is pretty simple: everyone brings three dozen (or more) cookies and a few take home containers. We set all of the platters on the dining room table and set up a charcuterie board and wine in the kitchen. Everyone mingles and enjoys the goodies. It’s such a fun, easy party. And a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with girlfriends. I look forward to it every year.

Off topic, but I wanted to share three staples I always have on hand for an impromptu happy hour, especially during the holidays: wasabi peas, salted caramels (Sanders are the best!) and Marcona almonds. Dump these in pretty little bowls are you’re all set. They pair well with cocktails.

I am in the thick of holiday orders and ALL the school events and Christmas parties. This is such a fun time of year, but I’m feeling overwhelmed. I know I’m not alone! We got this!
